No funny story, no life changing moment to share. Just a shy smile and the wish for you to find some peace & joy in this hectic and crazy world. Slow down. Take time to really look around you. The days are going by faster and faster and we are missing so much. If you have children, hug them for one day soon they will leave your house and your arms. Are you married? Remind yourself and your spouse why you said “I do.” Do you have an older pet, one who is just happy to sit next to you? Give them a pat and remember when they were younger and you would long for them to calm down, well tada. Time is moving faster and faster, this world is speading to a destination I don’t want to see. I am living for today and looking for tomorrow. Yesterday is done and gone why dwell on it? Fresh start, clean slate. I hope you find some peace & joy in this hectic and crazy world, I have found mine in the arms of Jesus and he soflty whispers “I want you to live life abundantly and with joy”
I choose today with its joy, tomorrow for whatever He brings me and Iet go of yesterday. I pray for you to find some peace & joy in your day.

When a little boy says “come see”
Posted by carolinakioty on September 5, 2010
“Mama come see …”
I heard my 9 year old say this three times. Each time I replied “be right there honey” Hear is a truth most moms out there already know but for some reason we tend to forget time and time again.
When a child says come see you really need to go see.
When I didn’t get up and go see my son came to me and said “guess what Mama you can make a tornado with dish soap and water.” All I said kind of distracted like was “uh huh that sounds neat.” WRONG
About 5 minutes later it finally registered what he said, I jumped up and ran in to my kitchen ……
There was my angel boy draining the last of a brand new bottle of Dawn that had taken me 2 weeks to remember to buy. There was soapy bubbles and water everywhere and when he saw me a smile lit up his face and he said “Mama come see”
After taking a deep breath I went to see as he used the last drop to show me his tornado spinning and spinning until there was nothing but bubbles which he then dumped down the drain. All I can say is his hands are very clean now and so is my sink. Next time he says come see I will go and see

Caitlin’s 17th
Posted by carolinakioty on June 22, 2009
Well now she made it to her 17th birthday. There were times we didn’t think it would happen. She had a cook out at the fire department and invited friends and family. We had the traditional cake and ice cream of course:

Make a wish

Family

Friends

Showing Off
After hot dogs and chips, we had cake and ice cream. Followed by presents. Caitlin does not like opening presents in front of everyone, but she did it anyway.
) Her cousins and a couple of friends had a ball with balloons. Just regular blow them up yourself balloons. they were bouncing everywhere. Daniel liked the four wheeler but was done after 1 ride. Bet he would love one his size better. Some of us grown ups stayed out late chit chatting and swatting bugs until midnight.
All in all it was a very good day.

Back in Action

Wow I have Internet again. Unbelievable how fast you can get used to not having something then tada you get it back and fall in old patterns. Like getting my nose stuck in here.

Wow they match... all on their own
Catch up is catch up… I work while the children are in school. I get off at 3… sometimes later. I finish whatever I am working on at 3 then I leave. So far it works for everyone. Now if we get busy busy I am sure the off at 3 is over. I like it though I don’t feel so guilty for not being home because I am home.
So anyway leave me a comment, ask me a question, send me an email. I can and will answer now. But its after midnight…. I took a pain pill and did it knock me out? nope. but I better try to go to sleep anyway… got to work tomorrow.
Night everyone!

What a Farm we live on.
Posted by carolinakioty on February 2, 2009
Ever get the feeling that things have gotten out of hand? Wondering how you go from one little parakeet to a virtual zoo of critters? We went 11 years with no pets other than the odd fish or two. Then there were the outside OUTSIDE ALL THE TIME kitty cats that woudl show up occasionally.
Now 3 weeks ago we had 2 inside dogs, 1 outside dog, 1 cat, 2 parakeets, 1 cockatiel, 1 goldfish, 1 hamster, 300 guppies and 2 chickens. Well since then we have lost 1 chicken (I didn’t eat him) and gained a puppy.
The children found a small puppy (vet says she was 4 weeks old) in the filed across from our house. On my birthday no less
Caitlin wants to keep her, says she will pay for everythign and take care of her 100% on her own. Ask her how much she likes vet bills or getting up at 2 am for a potty call.
We have a very friendly although on the dumb side black lab mix she is a year old. She may be wanting a new home, also the birds have to go. no time to give the m the attention they deserve and every one keeps telling them to shut up. KC (dog #1) and Allie (my cat) are here to stay. everyone else is negotionable, want a pet? give me a call I will deliver them with food, toys, supplies and a great big smile!

Its New Years Eve Already?!?!
Posted by carolinakioty on December 31, 2008
Where the heck did the year go? It has blasted by so fast I can’t remember what I did yesterday let alone a week, month or year ago.
Still no computer at home. I am averaging once a month at the library and I don’t always remember to stop by my blog. Don’t give up on me lol. In another month or two we will have Internet back at the house. I just have to take care of more important things first.
So take care my friends, in this new year trust more in God and lean on Him who will not turn or change. Pray for our soon to be president. I don’t agree with most of his view points but he will be my president and only God can touch and change his heart. Take care and my love and prayers go out to everyone.

16 Years
Posted by carolinakioty on June 30, 2008
Today is my anniversary. 16 Years we have been married. Sixteen. What a number. It is a magical number for me. I hadn’t really thought about it before until today. It was my mile marker. My yard stick. How I would measure whether or not I had “made” it. That we were forever only becomes real after we hit this mark. What am I talking about? Let me tell you if you feel like hearing about it …
I met Michael when I was 16. We broke the rules, all the of the rules. My Mom and Dad had recently split up. Mom was in Florida, Dad was in Missouri. I had gone to Missouri for a visit that turned into a stay. Dad didn’t have many rules and I was 16, he wanted us to stay and that made it even easier. His one rule was “No dating the GI’s” My Dad was in the Army. Well that rule got broken right quick let me tell you. All it took was one look at Michael and pfft what rule? We tried for all of a single weekend to be discreet and not let on … yeah well that didn’t last long. When you spend 2 hours sitting in a truck while he is washing, waxing, wiping and not looking at what he is doing … even a blind man could tell there was interest there.
So anyway we broke the rules. Not only did we date, we fell in love, we had a baby, we got married and we moved away. Rules what rules? The rules said Don’t date when the age difference is so big…. a teenager doesn’t know their own minds or bodies, getting married young will never last, your ruining your life by having a child so young, you better finish school first…. ok so that last one might have had something to it.
We have been married for 16 years. I lived 16 years before Michael and 16 with him. There were a few months in between there where we fought and made up several times but hey we made it through. Half of my life. 16 that magical number. My parents were together for 16 years. It didn’t click until today. This was the number I was waiting for. My 5th and 10th anniversaries went by smoothly but were not a huge thing for me. Just another number… why? well they were not 16. I guess in my heart where it mattered most to me 16 was a make it or break it number. My parents didn’t make it past it. when I was 16 my life changed, my home as I knew it changed, I was changing and finding myself, rules were changing and it was a mess. then I met Michael and it changed again, then I was pregnant and it changed again. I moved and tada another change all at 16. Now here I sit. I have made it to 16. I have a home and a house (they are not that same thing you know). A family if my own and a 16 year old daughter, Her parents are together and still going. We have never mention or thought of splitting up not once since we said I do. Do we have the perfect marriage? No LOL who does? We fuss and fight but the love is there, it is strong and it is a lasting love. It is everything I could have hoped for it to be as I stood there and said I do. Michael is my other half, my soul mate the one God chose for me. He completes me and keeps me sane. He knows most of mt faults and ignores them as I do his. We laugh together, cry together and love together. We raise our children together and watch them grow. We have alot to be thankful for. We have been together for half of my life, and I hope for many, many, many more years to come. I made it to 16. Now I can take a deep breathe and get ready for the long haul as they say. I plan to say I made it to 25, 50 and who knows how long after that?
Happy Anniversary to me.
