Corie's Blog

My life, my kids, my husband, my pets. All about Me :o)

About me

My name is Corie Ann, most know me by just Corie. I was born in  Colorado Springs, Colorado. My Dad was military, the army. So I was born and raised an Army Brat and don’t you forget it! LOL. I can handle my own just fine. A fact most over look as I come across shy and quiet, and really naive. *sigh wish I could loose the naivety.

I have alot of amazing people in my life. First and foremost is my Lord and Savior. With my belief and faith in Jesus Christ I would be nothing and no one. Nothing I did would matter. He is my foundation, my rock, my cornerstone. You get the picture.

I have a wonderful husband, Michael. I met him in Missouri while he was in the army, freshly back from the 1st Gulf War. When he got out of the army he took me and his baby girl home with him. I was not loved at first site but boy was little Caity ever! LOLBut now his family is my family and I would not have it any other way. I have three children with Michael and they are a miracle in  and of them selves. Neither one of us were supposed to be able to have kids. Michael was told he was sterile and I was told that after a pelvic infection and severe scarring that I had a less than 50% chance of ever becoming pregnant and and even smaller chance (less than 25%) of carrying full term. well my older two went past term and only the youngest was early and then only by 3 1/2 weeks. A miracle? oh yes indeed my God is an awesome God, is yours?

Caitlin will be 16 this month. She is her Daddy’s girl. She is in the marching band and this year will be doing both trumpet and colorguard. She goes to nationals next week (June) for HOSA that stands for Health Occupations Students of America. Its in Texas, my baby will be turning 16 in texas away from me. :o (  She has a car but no permit lol, and she recently got a job at piggly wiggly. she is a busy girl. But she is bright and beautiful and has so much going her way. I just pray she keeps God first in her life

Next in line is Christopher. He will be a teenager this summer…. oh my 2 of em in the same house.  He loves computers and games and reading. He is so much like me in his reading and his mood swings lol. It is interesting to see how much each child takes of me and Mike and makes something totally unique and their own with it. He also plays trumpet in band. He will be in the 8th grade next year. He wants to be a Marine or computer programmer/video game maker when he grows up, I think he can do both. Do I want him to go to war? no I sincerely hope this war is over by the time he is any where near of age.

Last is my baby, Jacob. Jacob was a surprise to say the least. I went in for more birth control and they run the test as a precaution. Imagine my surprise when she came out and said you don’t need BC anymore…. although truth be told I had a feeling … There is 6 years between Christopher and Jacob. They are close but if you have children be extra careful not to push out your middle child. you don’t even notice you are doing it. I did it and now I have to make extra time and extra effort so he knows he is just as important, but back to Jacob…

Jacob was born 3 1/2 weeks early. He has Hydrocephalus. He has had a shunt since he was 4 weeks old. I will add another page all about Hydrocephalus for those interested in knowing moer about it. As for my boy… he is my baby, he is spoiled and he is all boy and then some. He loves video games, dart guns, swords and action figures. He has a wonderful imagination and yes he too is trying to play the trumpet, did I mention their Daddy played trumpet?

This is my family along with an assortment of pets.  I love to read, be on the computer, play some games with my kids and even a video game or two.  I do crafts and crochet, I ‘putter’ in my flower garden.  I am very free with sharing my life, feelings and anything about my kids.  Feel free to ask, it never hurts to ask. Maybe I know something that can help you out, or vice verse.  We are all here to help each other along the way. Until we “meet” again may God hold you in the palm of his hand.
