There was a time when summer vacation meant sleeping late, being lazy, sunning and playing and just being at home. Rest and relaxation. Well what happened? Where does it say in the mommy manual that summer vacation means being three times as busy as you were all year?
Take today, the phone rings at 7am. My mom is calling to see how I am and says “Oops did I wake you?” OK I am up so much for sleeping late, but truthfully I can’t sleep past 6am yet, still used to the alarm going off and I keep waking up in a panic thinking we are late. So today, we have a full day. I have to get Caitlin up and dressed before 9:30 (not going to make it) so we can go by the bank and set up her direct deposit, go to Piggly Wiggly to get her work permit signed, take her to the high school to drop her off for HOSA. Then I have to take her permit to SS, pay my water bill and return library books. Go home and wait for her to call to pick her back up. Clean up the house to get ready for her party Saturday. Go back the high school to pick her up. Arrange transport for the boys to get to vacation Bible school tonight, take Caitlin back to the high school for graduation (she is playing with the band for graduation) go to bible school myself, pick up my boys and then go back to the high school to pick Caitlin up. Oh yeah and sometime in there I have to get gas and feed everybody. Ugh. What a day, and I was afraid of being bored?
Things are likely to get a little more hectic. Caitlin has colorguard practice, Band practice (she is doing both, flag and mellaphone) She has nationals, work and volleyball. Camp is in there too, both her and Christopher are going so I get 5 days of just me and Jacob, that will be my vacation. Caitlin does better under pressure than when she has too much time. She tells me that she gets lazy and gets into trouble. I would argue that but it is true and not just for her. ;o)
That’s it for today, I am on a roll and if I don’t stop now I will overwhelm you, me and everyone in between and no one will ever again chance reading my blogs LOL I hope your day is a relaxing one, full of peaceful moments in between the hectic mad dash to do this or that.
